Frequently Asked Questions

Before Class

What should I wear on my feet?

We recommend barre socks for our barre, Pilates and rebounding classes. Bare foot for yoga. If you need extra support from running shoes for our barre or rebounding classes, that’s cool – just make sure it’s an indoor shoe please.

Grip socks are required in order to participate in our reformer classes.

Dress comfortably in clothing that allows you to move freely.
Please avoid zippers or anything that might damage the Reformer vinyl.
For your safety, we recommend tying up long hair and avoiding heavy lotions, which can make your body slippery during class.

No, the studio does not have showers. We do have washrooms and everything you need to freshen up after class.

We are located on the second floor of 227 Main Street Markham N.

All good. If you know in advance, just let us know ahead of time so we don’t worry about you. If something comes up during class, please feel free to leave. Know that we’ll ask you if you’re okay on your way out.

Please arrive early to ensure adequate time to find parking.

To avoid getting stuck waiting for the train, we recommend you approach parking from the back.
Directions from Bullock: heading east, cross over Main Street (Bullock turns in Parkway Avenue), and turn left onto George Street. (There is daytime street parking on George.)

Continue until Ramona Blvd., and then turn left. Enter the parking lot you see on the right. Drive around the back of the building to the front, and park where you like. Groove Barre is upstairs and the entrance is in between Pinned Up Bra Lounge and Kate’s Garden.

It depends.

For our open studio, we have an open door policy. Please come in quietly and try not to disrupt the class.

For classes occurring outside of reception hours, you MUST arrive on time as the door is locked for safety. Class times where the door will be locked include: 6:00 am, 7:00 am, 8:00 am and 4:45 pm.

For reformer classes, late arrivals are NOT permitted. This is for safety and liabiliy reasons. You must show up on time or you will not be permitted to enter the class and your class will be deducted as if you had attended. We do NOT make exceptions to this policy.

For Open Studio bring water and a mat. If you forget, we have mat rental available for $2, as well as water available for purchase.

Technical Difficulties

I'm having a hard time logging in with my existing Mindbody Account - can you help?

Mindbody does facilitate single sign in across multiple studios, but sometimes the initial linking can be tricky. Mindbody advises clients to register as if they are a new client, taking care to use the same email address you used with your previous account. You can register below. Once registered, the system should automatically sync, but if it doesn’t, we can help you sync.
